Learn about Registration Process of Mobile

Registration Process of mobile.

Q1. Define the process of Registration in Mobile?

  • The MS must be registered at one of the MSC for successful operation of numerous system functionality. This is maintaining not only for billing but also for authentication & verification as well as for excess pervelidge. In addition to this permanent information, the wireless system needs to know whether the MS is currently located in its own home area, or is visiting some other area; this is done by exchanging signal known as Beacon Signal between BS and MS. The following steps are used by MS outside their own Home area:-
    1. A MS listen for new beacon & if it detects one, it acts to the active beacon kernel table. If the device determines that its need to communicate with a new BS, Kernel modulation initiates the hand off process.
    2. The MS locates the nearest the nearest BS through user level processing. The visiting BS performs user level processing & determines who the user is; the user registered home size (MSC) for billing purpose & what kind of access permission the user has.
    3. The home site sends authentication response to the visiting BS & stored in the VLR (visitor location register).
    4. The BS at the visited location approved or disapproved user access.

Q2. Define Hard Hand off?

  • Hard hand off is also known as break before make, scaterised by realizing current radio resources from the prior play station before acquiring resources from the next base station. Both TDMA and FDMA employees hard hand-off.

Q3. Define Soft Hand off?

  • Soft hand off is also knows as make before make, the MS communicate simultaneously with the prior base station as well as the new base station just for some short time. It is also possible to move from a cell controlled by one MSC area to a cell connected to another MSC. The beacon signal and the use the HLR-VLR pair allow MS to roam.
  • To roam any where as long as the same service provider using the particular frequency band present in that area.

Q4. Define paging area?

  • Paging area is the area covered by one or more MSC. In order to find the current location of the mobile station. The movement from one cell to another cell can be supported by HLR-VLR pair, where first MSC known how to root the data through second MSC.

Q5 Define the registration process of mobile in detail?

  • A mobile station is also registered with a router or a router close the home MSC can be selected to serve as its Home Agent (HA). Once a MS moves from the home network to foreign network, a software agent in the new network known as a foreign agent (FA). It helps the MS by forwarding packets for MS. The functionality of HA-FA is somewhat similar to the HLR-VLR pair accept that it supports mobility in a much broader sense. The way of forwarding packets between HA-FA is also known as tunneling between the two in value network.
  • When ever a mobile station moves into a new network its HA remains unchanged. MS detects the FA of the current network domain by the periodic beacon signal. That the FA transmits when a FA detects that a new MS has moved into a domain it allocate a care-of-address (C.O.A) to the MS.

Q6. Define the Care of address and Co-located car of address?

  • Care of address can either be the address of FA itself or it may be a new addressed called Co-located care of address (C- COA) that the FA allocated to the MS.
